Depth of Field : Over the July 4th weekend, I ventured back up to my friend Laura's cabin outside Clayton, GA. I decided to practice my depth-of-field skills using a 12mm extension tube and my 70-200mm IS lens.

Trying Out The New Lens : I've had my eye on the Canon 100-400 IS lens for quite some time now. It is a professional-grade lens that is seriously high quality. When I completed my tax returns for this year, I realized that I was going to have a large-enough refund that I could add this lens to my stable. The pictures here are my first shots from the new lens, taken at Grant Park in Atlanta on Good Friday, 2008 (early in the morning, before going into Zoo Atlanta).

"Best Of..." : This is the first gallery I ever posted to Smugmug. It is intended to showcase my personal favorites and the images I consider the "best of the best". Some of these pictures are in other galleries, too. this is not meant to be all-inclusive, though. There are a lot of other images in the other galleries that I really like, but I haven't had a chance to copy them here.

Backgrounds/Wallpaper : These are just a few of the images that I think make great backgrounds in WINDOWS. The original size of the image is 1024x768. To make it a background, click on the desired thumbnail, then click on the large image. It will show full-screen. At the top of the screen, click on the 'O' to show the original-sized image. From there, move your mouse over the image, click the right mouse button, and select either "Save image as..." or "Set as Background..."

Photography Seminar : In October, 2005, I took part in a photography seminar at Atlanta Botanical Gardens, taught by an award-winning photographer named Don Gale. It was my first real experience learning about aperture and exposure. I took many pictures - these are the best that I took.
